Dog Agility Weave Poles at AthleticDogs.com

Agility Obstacles - The Weave Poles

The weave is a set of upright poles, each about 3 feet tall and spaced about 20 inches apart. The dog must weave in and out of each pole, like a slalom. Agility trials vary in the number of poles used, usually from 5 to 12 poles in a row.

Training for the weave is the most difficult of the agility obstacles. The dog must always enter with the first pole to his or her left and may not skip poles. There are numerous training aids to assist in mastering the weave poles, but again the most important training advice is repetitive practice in your own yard.
