Conformation Eligibility at AthleticDogs.com

Conformation Eligibility

Conformation has the most eligibility requirements of all dog performance sports. First, the dog MUST be pure-bred. This makes sense, of course, when you consider that the point of conformation is to assess how well the dog conforms to its breed standards!

To be eligible to compete in most conformation shows, a dog must also:

Be registered with the sanctioning organization (AKC, CKC, etc.)
Be at least six months old
Be in a breed class offered at the show
Meet all requirements of the written standard for the breed (from the sanctioning organization)
NOT be spayed or neutered (the purpose of conformation is to evaluate breeding stock)
